Do you love web 2.0 and social tools like Facebook? If so, this is your chance to get a taste of life in a web 2.0 start-up without hopping a plane for the west coast.

We are looking for interns in the following areas:

Web Development – Are you working on a degree to make your hacking legit? Do you speak LAMP? If so, this is the internship for you. We primarily code using our customized MVC framework in PHP and Javascript using MySQL databases. Yes, this is an internship but you will need to hold your own if you want to play with us. If you are a talented coder, let’s talk.

Design – Aspiring graphic designers build your portfolio while helping implement our brand messages, develop intuitive user interfaces and work on ad campaigns for a variety of online media channels.

Business Development – If you are in the business school and want some great experience this is for you. Duties will include assisting our team with financial modeling and projections and helping us manage the dollars and cents behind our media buys.

Public Relations – Primary duties will include brand evangelism in all online social channels, relevant content writing, advertising and customer relations. Opportunities to assist the business development team with presentations and trade shows may also be available.

Why consider interning with Lifefitter?
We offer technology start-up experience that’s hard to come by in Columbia with the possibility of joining our team after graduation.

How many hours per week?
We expect a full time contribution during the summer and 15 or more hours per week during school. If you are doing a good job, we can be flexible.

What are the requirements?
You must be a junior or senior. We will begin to consider you in the second semester of your sophomore year. You must have a declared major applicable to your position of interest, have an interest in social media and be an expert user of Facebook. You should have a good rationale for how a Lifefitter internship can help you achieve your long-term career objectives. If you just want a paycheck, we suggest waiting tables….you’ll make more money doing that anyway.

How much does it pay?
Juniors - $9
Seniors - $10

Where will I work?
We are now working out of our brand new office in 5 points.

Any perks?
Free Redbull, Mountain Dew, 5-hour energy drinks with occasional Starbuck runs and tailgating at the company Cockaboose on game days. We’ll even throw in a few lunches here and there.
